SoCal Summer

I seriously don’t even know where to start. I honestly felt like I was in some kind of fairytale, it was THAT spectacular!

I woke up at 6, which is completely unreal for me, but it was worth it. Then came the two and a half hour boat ride, which wasn’t exactly the highlight of the day, but it could have been worse. But then we got to our first stop. We went to Bartoloméisland to climb up an old volcano. It’s dead, but it exploded in the late 19th century, and I still get to say I climbed a volcano. The views once we reached the top were extraordinary! It looked even better than most postcards, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite that gorgeous!

Then we went snorkeling, and that was definitely the highlight of the day. Yes, the views of the island were wonderful, and had I done anything else afterwords they would have been more than enough, but I didn’t, and this next part made me forget about them completely.

That’s because I went snorkeling with penguins.

And by snorkeling with penguins I mean I actually had one swim up right beside me. I know it sounds almost ridiculous, and it was, but it was so incredible! Penguins actually have a little bit of an attitude, like macaws, at least to me. The ones I saw today had this air about them that just screamed “we know we’re nice to look at”. Or maybe it’s just me and the sun got to me lol.

Either way it was marvelous, I honestly couldn’t have asked for more, the water wasn’t even that cold! It was a perfect day =)
